Right after work I went to crossfit. It was my second class, and I must say it was intense! Our workout was 15 reps 10 sets of 65 lb deadlifts & push ups. I completed my workout in 11:21. The actually workout was short, but with warmup it was about a 50 minute workout.
The best part about crossfit is kettle bells are always used. I love kettle bell workouts. I felt like a beast after finishing and am very excited to be partaking in classes every MWF at 7:00 pm.

So now on to today. I have had the munchies all day long! Luckily, I don’t have any unhealthy food, which kept me from eating poorly. I once, again for was under my 1200 calorie goal! Swim suit season is about to be owned.

Today was a much better eating day. I was right at 1175 calories and consumed all of my water.

I woke up around 8 am, which was an hour prior to my workout. I ate breakfast, and hit the gym in my new workout gear! Today, I had my personal trainer. She’s amazing and keeps me motivated.

Our workout today involved three different exercises for each muscle group. I started out with a one mile warm up. I completed the mile in just over 8 minutes. I felt pretty much like jello after my hour with my trainer.

I have to say my fourth day in a row working out was fabulous!

Can’t wait for rock climbing tomorrow!

More than just a New Years Resolution…

Hi! My name is Ashley, and I am your average American woman.

Although, in 2012, I had many events happen that required me to discover strength I didn’t know I possessed. In October of 2012, I decided that I was going to take my health more serious. You, might ask why was October the turning point?  Well, my father passed away in July of a heart attack at the gym, and October is when I decided to finish his mission of becoming a healthy person.

I always used to complain about my weight to him, & I never seemed to be fully satisfied. He used to tell me to get healthy for me, and not some guy or special occasion. He understood that at a young age people cause so much damage to their bodies later in life. People say to me on a regular basis “it’s crazy you’re dad died at a gym! He was such a healthy person & addicted to working out”. I always responded with “He was healthy later in life, but early on think about all of the damage he did to his body”  I have come to realization that what he was trying to always tell me is completely true! You have to start with a healthy foundation and continue it throughout your life.

Like most females, I have been on diets & crazy workout regiments before to lose weight quick. This time, though, I am getting healthy for a richer & longer life.

Two of my friends, Ashley & Jessica, blog about their workouts & daily routines, and I have always found them both inspiring. So, I have decided to use this page as an outlet to share my story on a daily basis. Who knows maybe I’ll inspire one of you out there in the cyber world!
